Thanks so much for all your hard work!
That must have been quite a job! I can imagine the exponentially growing number of Tony Rayns commentaries crashing any computer attempting to catalogue them just like the situation at the the end of The Andromeda Strain!

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
Just looking at the main page on desktop and think it looks just spiffy - I also like that the "list of licensors" field now has info from all the specialty labels, albeit still a work in progress, it's actually one of the features I most value on this site and having it expanded is great! A lot of the other stuff is really exciting, too. Thanks for working on it, Chris!

I dig the mobile version. I no longer have to use tapatalk which was giving my phone problems. Lots of great info on site. Kudos Chris

Yes, I'll be filling this all in as I get more data in, though only where I can verify. I'll also have a page up at some point for visitors/users to make suggestions/corrections to data, including licensing info.Ribs wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 10:54 amJust looking at the main page on desktop and think it looks just spiffy - I also like that the "list of licensors" field now has info from all the specialty labels, albeit still a work in progress, it's actually one of the features I most value on this site and having it expanded is great! This is actually the most time consuming aspect from a data entry aspect, and though I think I've refactored my queries well enough, as the data grows I'll have to keep my eye on things to make sure it doesn't bog down the sites. I know I'm not getting everybody with each feature as well (because this also includes documentaries, interviews, and so on, and a lot is based on what the label lists themselves) but it will build up over time.colinr0380 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 3:12 amThat must have been quite a job! Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
It looks great, Chris! One suggestion probably far too late to implement, but it took me a while to figure out how to find the packaging pix in your reviews. I don’t know how much your readers use that function, but it does seem kind of buried as it is now

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
Yes, that's something I need to fix (I overlooked that, along with a couple of other things that I will be fixing)
Another thing I forgot to point out is that while screen shots and packaging pictures can be opened in full screen on mobile devices, iOS devices are a bit buggy/spotty at the moment. I've been researching how to fix this.

Very pleased you have been able to implement the "https" secure setting. After blocking a number of malware attempts, my virus protection no longer wanted me to access the site!

I still get 'connection not secure' on Firefox and I even have HTTPS Everywhere installed.

Even if you visit https://www.criterionforum.org directly? I don't have a redirect set up yet so going to the old URL will keep you on the non-ssl site.

It works, it happened because I was using an old bookmark.cdnchris wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 4:32 pmEven if you visit https://www.criterionforum.org directly? I don't have a redirect set up yet so going to the old URL will keep you on the non-ssl site.

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
Am I the only one who's seen the site be down *a lot* since the update happened last week? I know it's just part of web management that downtime will happen sometimes but it's been several times a day the site seems to be down for several minutes. Is this something you're looking into, Chris?

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
I know it went down a couple of times as I fiddled with things but haven't seen it otherwise. The forum is going down, too?

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
The site should now redirect everyone to SSL/HTTPS automatically. If anyone experiences any issues possibly around this please let me know.

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
Is this meant to say "should now redirect"? If so, it's not working for me. (That is, I can load the HTTPS version if I manually fix the URL, but the redirection from HTTP doesn't happen.)

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
Should be "now" (and I fixed it).
Odd. Though it shouldn't matter, what browser are you using?

Firefox on Android. I can try it on desktop when I get home. However, on a second look, it does redirect properly on the site's home page, just not on the forum.

Same. Non-forum URLs (bare domain, /Videos, /Calender, info pages for particular releases, etc.) redirect to https, but anything at /forum doesn't. Mac desktop using Chrome.

OK! I think I figured out the issue with the forum. Please let me know if anyone is still not being redirected.

Re: DONATE AND HELP IN OUR SITE OVERHAUL/UPDATE
I have problems with accessing the site on Firefox, the graphics seem shifted and I cannot click on any threads.
