I believe it's part of the title. Imdb lists it as such.flyonthewall2983 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 7:28 pmThis is ridiculous minutiae but is the "..." part of the official title, or just in the posters?

That question led me to look again and see that the title is written two different ways on the poster itself!

Continues to baffle me. Continue to feel as though the tie goes to that Tarantino letter until the actual title card from the film hits the eyes of this forum's modshipmfunk9786 wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:36 amI should inquire: What is the title of this film? Tarantino calls it Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood above, the marketing image on the film's Twitter account and in the trailer calls it Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood, and then of course there's the ellipsis-free Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Has a consensus just not really emerged? I'm inclined to say that the tie goes to the director.

What is the title of this film? Why are the ellipses different?
He's such an artiste. /s"When asked for an explanation of the film's title's spelling during a news conference at the Cannes Film Festival, Tarantino said, "I'm never going to explain that".When pushed on it, Tarantino would not explain the first u in Inglourious, but said, "The Basterds? That's just the way you say it: Basterds." Tarantino later stated in an interview that the misspelled title is "a Basquiat-esque touch." He further commented on Late Show with David Letterman that Inglourious Basterds is a "Quentin Tarantino spelling."

I'm of the opinion that the title is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and any inclusion of ellipses is simply a matter of stylization. I also wouldn't be surprised if the title ends up being stylized differently during the opening and closing credits.

Re: Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (Quentin Tarantino, 2019)
Tarantino has done a lengthy (3 hours) podcast interview with Pure Cinema talking about his latest. Some of it is summarized here, where he discusses the direct inspirations for some of Dalton's fictional movies (Dalton's The 14 Fists of McCluskey, the "Anybody ordered fried sauerkraut" war pic, is based on Roger Corman's The Secret Invasion, for instance), and that editing continued after the Cannes screening but has finished.
Also, tickets for this appear to be on sale, with a select number of locations offering 35mm screenings.
EDIT: Alamo Drafthouse specifically is offering 35mm showings, and you can also see it in 70mm (like I will be on the 27th) if you are near one of these theaters.

The film now runs two minutes longer than the Cannes cut. The additions are an extension of a scene between Margot Robbie and a hitchhiker and a new scene between DiCaprio and Timothy Olyphant

I'm seeing it on Tuesday. And then again on Friday. Both times on the only 35mm print in the state of Pennsylvania. God, just keep me alive until then.

Which theaters? I looked around, but couldn’t find much info from the site, and I don’t think Fandango lets you search by format?
I’m toying with the idea of flying to LA to see it Sunday. It appears seats are available.

The Roxy is doing 35mm once per day starting Thursday. The advance screening is on Tuesday at the Philadelphia Film Center, but from everything I can gather, it's already been overbooked.
I just made the comparison with my brother that this is essentially my Itchy & Scratchy Movie, which means I'd better get to ripping up the carpet and hammering mustard packets this weekend.

Oh yeah, Roxy did a remodel a few years ago, right? I haven’t been to PFC in awhile, but friends who went to see Avengers there sat in the theater that wasn’t the main one, and they said it was awfully uncomfortable. Stay safe and hydrated.

The main one (the backup is essentially a multi purpose room/stage) is the best screening room in the city. Only competition it has is the rear room of the Ritz East (the one sans red seats).

The Music Box here in Chicago is actually opening a 70mm print. I hadn't heard if it being filmed 70mm, so I looked it up and was disappointed that it's indeed just a 70mm blowup, unlike The Hateful Eight, which I saw in 70mm there upon its initial release.

I saw on a recent TV spot that this finally got an R rating. Am I over-dramatizing or did it run a little closer to the wire than normal with the “This film is not yet rated” thing?

If the final 2-minute-longer cut that domino referenced was just recently locked, that would explain why the rating was just finalized.HitchcockLang wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 10:54 pmI saw on a recent TV spot that this finally got an R rating. The rating delay makes perfect sense however, a week away from wide release with zero official soundtrack information is very odd. I know the H8 soundtrack cut close to the movie's release but had a 2 week prior announcement possibly just a bit before that even.
I am thinking that some of the song selections could actually give way to spoilers.

Thanks for the tip. I was considering watching it there but for $18 a ticket I was hesitant. Will be in LA next month, hope to be able to catch it at the New Bev.

For anyone in the SE Michigan area, the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor has 35mm screenings beginning next Thursday.

I guess I'd better sexually assault someone this weekend too, then.
But all kidding aside (ha ha), I will not believe I've gotten to see this movie until I'm sitting in the theater with the credits rolling. So I'm knocking on all available wood.
Then hoping it's as good as I imagine it's going to be, of course.

Just a heads up: special screenings start today so stay off anything Tarantino related on the net if you can help it. Except of course this thread.

Where do you go if you want spoilers? I'm disturbed by how many people on the review sites are honouring Tarantino's requests not to reveal what happens in the last 20 minutes. God gave us spoiler tags for a reason.
