Something tells me this will be a rough month for bad newsletter clue jokes. Off to a bad start. The thread will be locked as quickly as humanly possible. =;

Wow. Well done. I had been racking my brain (is there a film with "Rockingham" in the title????) and the answer was right there in front of me.

Abusing my mod powers to point out that this is one of the best clues they've ever done. Quite clever! Whether this needed another Blu-ray release is another matter, though...

Abusing mine too! It took me a minute to realize that was supposed to be a boulder, even after the answer had been revealed.

I'm sure Top Hat is wrong, but it's all I've got.

It's probably for a Dietrich box, considering the shelf titles indicated there'd be several titles coming, and it'd be weird to do a clue around a single actress if the release isn't centered around that concept.

I'd think it might be indicating another Dietrich in parallel?

rather than scarlett empress.

but I'm not sure what would fit, Angel is Lubistch, but I don't know if it would fit the clue (all I remember is feeling kinda meh about it, Blond Venus has an obvious Gorilla gag they'd use for a clue, right?

Morocco. Dietrich, and the film where she famously appeared in male drag (tuxedo + top hat). Hopefully a Dietrich / Sternberg Box with all their films.

Ahh, I knew there was a Dietrich I’d seen where she wore a top hat but I couldn’t place it.

If we carry the magician line on, it could be Follow The Boys. Though that hardly seems worth it.

Maybe a Dietrich eclipse set, much like the Ingrid Bergman set.

And maybe to borrow from hockey jargon, ‘hat trick’ means 3 goals. So, three films coming?

I don't know I can justify the time commitment required if I were to have to change my avatar every time people kept guessing after a clue was definitively solved
