Watching the trailer and the most surprising thing is it's filmed in 'Scope. Perhaps the filmmakers took Fritz Lang's thoughts on aspect ratios to heart

Are you trying to convince me to watch Matt Damon take off his shoes again? You couldn't even bribe me.

The cell shading is entirely unnecessary, though - why not just use the promo photo with a filter on it?

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
This movie features a rapper/"actor" playing a character known as "Black".
The name of this gentleman is...Blackface.
So, ninety-one years after The Jazz Singer, that's now come full circle.
You'll note that Blackface's credit isn't on the cover (incidentally, neither is the credit for Stacey Dash, who is apparently Damon's cousin), though I can't imagine why...

About those DC animated films...look at this:
A Blu-ray.com member pointed out that the Harley Quinn image from Batman and Harley Quinn was simply re-used for the upcoming Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay (the movie mfunk9786 mentioned a couple pages back) with the necessary cosmetic changes.

Is the green supposed to represent money? Because if it isn't it looks more like an acid trip.

In the spirit of the film, it seems as though the graphic designer was forced to throw out his design and come up with an entirely different one just hours before it was due

It made me think of the 96 version of The Island of Dr Moreau.Big Ben wrote:Is the green supposed to represent money? Because if it isn't it looks more like an acid trip.

I didn't know Jimmy Stewart made a film about proper condom use. At least, I think they're condoms...

My favorite scene in Vertigo is the one where Kim Novak falls from that crumbling staircase.

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
I know this is probably pretty run of the mill, and that this was the poster used for the film, but god this is boring (and noisy, what with all the five star ratings and big Academy Award banner flashing away up there like some kind of unwanted internet popup ad) – and that's before we get to the major shit-show that's the back cover (as if anyone cares that it won some "Golden Tomato" award!!!). I love this film, but I want to hang out for some decent cover art. I'm serious: as long as it's not dubbed or something, I'm totally happy to get a Polish or Macedonian DVD of this film and navigate menus in a language I don't understand so long as the cover art is half-interesting. If anyone sees any significant alternatives out there on the international market, I'd love to hear about it.

Re: Worst DVD Covers...ever! (Part 4)
I actually deliberately ordered the UK Blu-ray, in part because it was out last week, but also because I don't mind the smaller stars (with tiny publication text underneath). What bothers me more is the larger font quotation, stars, and especially, the Spoiled Fruit logo on the front cover of the US edition (I'm sure the back cover is also just as, if not more terrible in the US, too, although the front and back UK Blu-ray cover are, in my opinion, slightly less unpleasant than the UK DVD covers). Even though the US cover is technically less busy, I dislike it much more than the UK cover:
It seems that all regions are going for some kind of localized variation on this design.Perhaps the only solution might be waiting months for, say, a Japanese release.

Not a bad cover, but I can't decide if lampshading shameless double dipping is funny or still just transparent consumer milking

That kind of having-it-both-ways shamelessness defines the actual movie, so at least it’s appropriate in that sense.

I find that joke cover much funnier than the actual movie.

Sony, can you please outsource your designs to someone who cares?

So, when I look at this from a distance, it's a bit unnerving at first:
but then, I realize it's not what it kinda sorta looks like at first, and I feel better.
