Re: The Taviani Brothers Collection
Another heads up - the Arrow sale may be over, but Zavvi's picked up the £24.99 baton.

Re: The Taviani Brothers Collection
I saw Night of the Shooting Stars last night and quite liked it.
Looked excellent throughout too but is it just me and/or my system or did anyone else also notice some weird artifacting/moiring on the woman's garment at 37:40-38:00 (when she is one the ground after finding the sicilian american soldiers)?

I enjoyed Shooting Stars but actually liked Kaos better, the anthology format I found provided a better way to introduce the same kind of variety of tone. I spose the point of the former is the difference between the idyllic Tuscan countryside and threat but the harsher Sicilian landscape to me worked more naturally with the stories. Padre being 16mm obviously benefits less from the remastering but I'd imagine for the other two films its a massive difference, actually reminds me a bit of Barry Lyndon with the difference between the very striking macro compositions and the texture on a small scale so being able to make on the latter clearly is really essential.
