Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Maybe I'm just more guffaw-prone than average, but I laughed aloud a lot: when the grill clattered down through the crack, when Mac said "bozo", when Charlie did...anything...

Not to mention Dee singing "Runaway Train" to that runaway kid while she was drunk was great.

Loved the intervention scenes and Charlie(?) making ambulance noises last night. Wine-in-a-can is a great idea IMHO.

It was great how they kept interjecting "Intervention!" whenever they wanted to make a point.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
I still think it was pretty disappointing on the whole though - and highway robbery that it's being sold for as much as it is. It was the length of an hour long TV slot sans commericals - they really couldn't pull out anything special for this one besides Danny DeVito's ass and a bunch of "fuck"s? It was a sub-standard episode, let alone special premium release.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
I don't find that that surprising, personally this season's been a let-down outside of the intervention episode and a few funny moments in others.

Come on, Charlie biting Santa full Dawn of the Dead style was pretty hilarious!

Not $15-20 for one episode hilarious.

After watching last night's episode "The Gang Buys a Boat" I am of the firm belief that Kaitlin Oslin deserves an Emmy nod. She is by far the best actor on the show.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
While this show is sort of becoming another South Park (getting worse and worse while a strangely vocal fanbase gets more and more rabid about it), the news that Rob McElhenney gained 50 pounds just to make Mac funnier is bizarre. Whether it's bizarre in a good way or not, we'll find out soon enough.

So we're not supposed to like Always Sunny anymore? How come I didn't get that memo.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
It just wasn't very funny for the last two seasons... was I the only one who thought so?

No, but I only watched about four episodes of the past two seasons. I gave up on the show after the Colonial episode.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
I don't know which episodes belong to which seasons so I'll take your word for it. I've been mostly catching up with reruns on CC. Though I don't think I've actually sat through a whole episode though. It works better for me in small doses.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Season 5 was great. But yes, the last season was wildly inconsistent, with a lot more misses than hits. I've heard rumors that the "gang" wasn't satisfied themselves with the season, so let's hope there's a turn around here...

This makes me want to forgive them for the last season:

Rob McElhenney is going for a frozen peas-era Welles look.
