Robert Durst, subject of HBO's documentary series The Jinx, arrested in New Orleans on a warrant from Los Angeles County.
SpoilerShow
Quite the satisfying development for those watching the series, which so far has been playing like an inverse of The Thin Blue Line. Up to now, The Jinx has been the disturbing saga of an obviously guilty man who clearly should be in prison for more than one murder. Hopefully this time he'll finally be convicted.

Wow, didn't see that coming. I used to watch this every week with my parents but I don't think I've seen a single episode since it first ran so I have no idea how well it ever held up (I suspect it didn't though)

Funny/accurate comment on the AV Club re: NBC's greenlighting of this
At this point I think NBC needs a court-appointed ward because it doesn't seem to be able to make reasonable decisions on its own anymore. I'm afraid it'll give all its money to a televangelist or something or keeping stray cats in its house.

Ballers and The Brink, both premiering right after the season premiere of True Detective.

An amusing moment during the undercard of the fight tonight was HBO's Jim Lampley talking about the various celebs attending, and having to point out Claire Danes, Don Cheadle, Ruth Wilson (accompanying Sting for some reason) and Liev Schreiber all are featured on Showtime's programs.

Has anyone watched that other Yahoo! Screen comedy, Other Space? I'd say it's about as good as the new season of Community, i.e. surprisingly so. Sci-fi fans don't seem to like it much though.

ABC has picked up a TV series based on John Hughes' Uncle Buck, the second time a TV show has been based on the film, except this time, it's an African-American family. Which is kind of awkward.

Undatable has been renewed for a third season, all of which will be filmed live. It will be the first recurring live primetime TV show since the second season of Roc in the 90s and only the second since the 50s.

I wonder/hope if that news is (as well as CBS and Fox cancelling Kevin Williamson's shows) indicative that the edgy procedural is starting to lose momentum.

Not only that, but he seems to have been banned from producing any content for them until his contract is up, which is absurd. His Monday podcast didn't go up, the next Grantland Basketball Hour episode has been removed from the schedule, and no written content or even tweets have gone up since this was announced. He's essentially been half-fired until the fall.

It looks like the complete opposite of binge-able anyway.

This is fucking petty and ridiculous from ESPN. The network has certainly gone downhill by kowtowing to Roger Goodell and his NFL flunkies, bringing back and giving extended exposure to the asinine commentary of Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless and sacrificing journalistic integrity for the sake of not upsetting the NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA, or Lebron James. Simmons was suspended for saying the truth about Goodell and earlier in 2014, baseball writer Keith Law was suspended for daring to confront Curt Schilling on Twitter over his ignorant comments on evolution.

Trailer for CBS's The Devil Wears... I mean, Supergirl.

This horrible and to make it worse, the execs at CBS have decided to run the show against Gotham on Monday nights.
