To be fair, his performance as that wheelchair kid was ok that time

Re: Philip Seymour Hoffman (1967-2014)
I still associate him with Degrassi and it's never been anything but weird that one of those kids is one of the biggest rap artists around. And I'd have placed bets on Manny over Jimmy any day

Re: Philip Seymour Hoffman (1967-2014)
I would only see it when I was in the room with my little sister, but it seemed like passable teenage drama. I would be waiting for The Adventures of Pete & Pete reruns to come on most of the time.

Re: Degrassi: A Thread That Goes There
I watched it from the beginning thanks to the joy that was The N-- Degrassi, Pete and Pete, Australian teen soaps, mall punk music videos instead of commercials-- that channel was perfect college life filler. I lost track of the show after a couple seasons, but I have fond memories. The series is also responsible for the single best tagline of any show ever, of course

Re: Degrassi: A Thread That Goes There
A staple of my Canadian childhood. Haven't thought about this show in years. Drake must've been on it long after I stopped watching. I stopped watching about the time that kid Wheels started to implode (tho' I was probably watching reruns). That must've been the original cast in the highschool years. The only kids I remember are Wheels, Snake(?), and the short kid with the hat.

You were watching classic Degrassi. We were watching Degrassi: the Next Generation (though a couple of the original characters pop up as parents/teachers)

Never thought I'd feel a generation with gap with people my own age, but here we are.

Degrassi has been cancelled. Thankfully the retrospective to air before the finale is perfectly titled
