Was this part of the Steadicam retrospective? I am going next Monday.

Yes! Caught After Hours and Pulp Fiction too (which did indeed have the ugly looking sky seen in the U.S. BD when Rhames pulls his gun out in front of Kathy Griffin - NR on that disc is still terrible though).

I am catching them next Monday so I can enjoy them on the big screen. Headed to The New World today so I can see the proper theatrical cut as well.

Warner is releasing a UHD/BD combo of Unforgiven (1992) on 5/23, which certainly would require a new 4k remaster/scan. According to the blu-ray.com forum member who posted the sell sheet, WB has plans to release the remastered BD in Fall 2017.

One thing really popped out. This shot:

The incredibly bright, almost fluorescent orange jump suit and the greenish paint on the wall. This is exactly how it looked on the print, and I remembered both BD's showing very different color for this, but I couldn't remember which had which. Turns out, the old 2007 BD (re-used for the 20th anniversary edition) has this color grading (and this is indeed a screen cap taken from it).

The remastered 25th anniversary BD did NOT have the same color grading as the 35mm print/2007 BD. Not even close:

Also, that annoying black line in that shot of DeNiro saying "I can't have it...I can't have it"? It was there on the print.
I finally gave the 25th Anniversary edition a watch yesterday and for what it's worth, that scene looked much closer to the greenish paint in the first screenshot. Overall the colors were definitely cooler than previous releases, but I paid special attention during that scene and it wasn't nearly so egregious.

Oddly, the sound seemed a bit problematic. I found the actual dialog to be much quieter than Henry's voice-over, to the point where I'd have to be constantly turning the volume up during dialog scenes and then back down again when the voice-over started. Very annoying. The soundtrack was supposed to be another major selling point of this release.

Unsure where to put this exactly but because it had been discussed here before I thought it relevant to say that Batman the Animated Series is coming to Blu-Ray in 2018.

Is not an Archive release though. It will be released through WB Home Entertainment.

Mea culpa. If a mod would kindly attend to my mistake (Although I'm unsure where the announcement should go.).

My intention wasn't to say that the news was posted in the incorrect place, just clarifying that the set won't be released through the archive. Although maybe, the news about this set should go here.

We all knew these were getting reissued, but WB's repertory division is temporarily pulling 2001 and The Wild Bunch—the former is unavailable due to an unspecified "50th anniversary WB event" and the latter on account of the TCM Classic Film Festival.

Excellent news! Even the print of Wild Bunch I saw was nothing special, with a hazy yellowness to a lot of it. Can't wait.

For anyone who might be curious about other TCM Fest selections and titles that might be getting a new Blu, the other film that's being pulled on account of the festival is, um, When Harry Met Sally. Also The Goonies is being pulled for a "worldwide event TBD," which actually sounds rather ominous.

Doesn't MGM own When Harry Met Sally?

MGM has the video rights (via the Nelson Entertainment library) but not theatrical, which are with WB through their acquisition of Castle Rock. Dunno what it's doing at the TCM fest—maybe part of a theme or tribute that hasn't been announced yet—and I'm not sure it would make much sense for MGM to do a new Blu when the current edition seems fine and goes for less than ten bucks. But then that's never stopped anyone before.

Being announced at Thursday's Comic-Con virtual panel: The Flintstones on Blu-ray, and "Bugs Bunny: 80th Anniversary Deluxe Blu-ray" (which is priced, at least in France, at a higher price point then even the Batman Animated Series set which was ten discs). Pretty exciting prospect.

According to the blu-ray.com review, the Full Metal Jacket 4k disc includes the original mono audio. Which begs two questions: does the new blu-ray feature the track, and is it actually the original? Or a downmix of the 5.1?

I believe the review says the Blu-ray disc is actually the old one. It has the same special features as before.

Yes, Warner included the older BD. There is, so far, no new BD with the new restoration.

Here’s a big one. UHD coming in the spring
Singin’ In The Rain

UHD should be added to the title of this thread

Also, it was mentioned in the latest Dead Pixel that Best Years of Our Lives has had a new 4k restoration from the nitrate OCN. Here's hoping Criterion opts for a UHD release of that one, or WAC makes the jump themselves.

Singin’ in the Rain coming in the spring from WB. This could very well be one of the best UHDs on the market. They state they are using original camera negative
WOW. I really hope they tell us how they found the OCN after all these decades!

Not sure where it is stated that they are using the OCN, especially since Robert Harris stated that only 1-2 reels are from the originals (though he does state that the 4K release looks lovely).

Godawful cover but otherwise a terrific looking package- it’s hard to imagine an improvement over the already stellar looking BD so it’ll be interesting to compare discs since it’s the OCN, which I’m sure will make a slight difference (on some TVs)
