Received a PDF of the booklet, and Geoff Andrew is another critic with notes included, but missing from the press release.

Booklet states the masters are from Shochiku. I don’t have the discs myself to comment yet.

Interesting, didn't realise they got these from Shochiku. I guess they got the Ozu from them too but curious as to why they skipped Tokyo Twilight (not to mention the potential idea of a Nomura box set, with many of his films unreleased in the UK).

Actually the Nomura films were released by Shochiku (on DVD at least) as part of a series devoted to the author of the source stories, Seicho Matsumoto, and not to Nomura. ;-)
